While matching outfits have long been popular among families, pet owners can now extend the trend to their feline companions with the launch of DD Cat's Raya Collection.
The collection includes traditional designs such as Baju Melayu, kurta, kebaya, and baju kurung, and is expected to sell around 20,000 Raya shirts for cats due to the growing demand in recent years.
DD Cat founder Shawn Amer expressed optimism about the trend, anticipating the collection to become a hit among cat lovers seeking to celebrate the festive season in style.
"The cat clothing industry has seen tremendous growth in recent years, with global revenue reaching a staggering US$5.2 billion last year. According to industry experts, this number is expected to climb to US$6.8 billion by 2027.
What makes this even more interesting is that it is a collaboration with actress Anna Jobling, who was responsible for designing, selecting fabrics, and promoting the collection.
Anna expressed her delight in collaborating on the DD Cat clothing line, as an animal lover who is not afraid to step in and help animals in need.
"A portion of the proceeds from the DD Cat collection will be donated to 10 animal organisations and individual activists on TikTok.
"We hope to encourage people to nurture their love for cats, and see them as a part of their families, just like I do.
"Our collection starts from as low as RM39 for the Kurta Muezza, and RM49 for the Baju Melayu Simba, Baju Kurung Bella, and Baju Kebaya Luna.
"We offer sizes from S to XL, ensuring that every cat can look their best and feel comfortable in their Raya attire," she added.
